Assedjefar Fm LITHOLOGY= USGS Chart places this unit at the base of the Namurian, base of the Pennsylvanian. Incomplete and truncated cycles of shaley limestones, siltstones, and cross-bedded sandstones with occasional conglomeratic intervals. Fossiliferous, containing faunal remnants of brachiopods, pelecypods, coral, and foramanifera. CALIBRATION = Base of Early Pennsylvanian (Bashkirian).
